Their choice may seem strange, but everything is understandable. Games are advised by friends and acquaintances. In my reviews, I want to tell something new, it sounds naive, but I believe in it. And that is why I never push off from the date of the release of the game, from how cult it is and how much it is told about it. Who knows, maybe after my videos are the same newcomers as I will discover the computer world for themselves, and experienced gamers will remember the old days. So, enough retreats – let’s move on to the review.

The game that is dedicated to this video from the first seconds caused me only bewilderment and hostility. And all why: the first thing that met me in it is the schedule unusual for me, and the second is a completely different mechanics. But to be afraid of everything unknown and incomprehensible is quite boring, so I plunged into the atmosphere of the game Alone in the Dark: At the last line.

As I said earlier, I did not work out love with this game from the very beginning. Although what is surprised, you just look at what I played before. Games of games – just heaven and earth. And the mechanics of action – differs strikingly, we will talk about this separately. But so far everything is in order.

“Alone in the Dark: At the last feature” is the fifth and last game of the series of the same name in the genre of Survalevo Horor or otherwise: “Try to survive, good luck, son”. Atari released it in 2008. And the first game of the series was released in the distant 92th. The reason for the lack of continuation of such a solid game, many see in film chambers with their failure attempts to transfer the events of the game to large screens, forgetting about the original source.

And as you can judge by the rating of these films on the KinoPoisk website, not unfounded. The directors have a noble phrase “Alone in the Dark” so nobly. And if you look at least at the protagonist in the game and in the second part of the film – the eyes just fall out of the orbits – straight “one face”. As a result, after such attempts to make a cache, it is unlikely that anyone will undertake to continue this series. But let’s not talk about sad and talk about the plot of the game.

Actions unfold at the beginning of the 21st century. The main character wakes up, surrounded by strangers. They discuss some ritual, something about cracks and about the path of light. In the course of the conversation, our hero understands that he will be killed. And for this they accompany the roof. It’s strange why on the roof. But such stupidity of the villains goes to the head of the hero in the hand. On the way there, his executioner kills the mysterious power: an incomprehensible crack suddenly appears in the wall with his teeth or with something like them ”and pulls him with him, or rather inside himself. And quickly disappears. Thanks to this, the hero manages to escape. He approaches the mirror and understands that he does not know who he is. Then he tries to get out of the building. By the way, this is not an ordinary building, but a multi -storey hotel. But since no one promised us a calm walk, right before our eyes the hotel begins to crumble. This happens very colorful.

Shards of glasses fly in different directions, everything that can burn, the walls are burning, the floor collapses, the truck explodes in front of the hotel, takes off up and knocks down the balconies of the building. And here we must take into account that all this can harm our character. We do not just observe the unfolding events, but plunge in them with our heads. I think you will agree that this part is made with taste.

Trying to leave the building, the hero meets people who are killing the same mysterious power. And later they become more correctly to say “puppets”. Well, the word “zombie” will be more acceptable, although this is not entirely true. They are like a zombie, but with a collective mind. Are under the control of the mysterious entity, eager to get the Glaverrier complete with a certain stone. By the way, we will soon find out that our ruthless killer of walking corpses, I’m now talking about the main character, the name is Edward Karnby. So, having handed out all the enemies on the way, a noble bream, Edward finds in the elevator Sarah Flores. Well, here we immediately see that they will have a novel. For it is necessary.

Then they find Paddington Theophilus in the underground parking lot – we saw it at the very beginning of the game. He talks about the reason for the appearance of such terrible chaos and how can you end it. But he is explained about this by puzzles and incomprehensible to anyone, apparently, of himself, hints. Therefore, there are only more questions.

I won’t tell you further about the plot, because it is very interesting and it is worth going on independently. Well, and because the people who told him on the vast network, a lot.

Before, I will say that it was more convenient for me to play in the first person. I don’t know why, either a habit, or crooked pens. Killing the rebellious zombies was a rather difficult task, since even a simple wave of a magic wand in the form of reinforcement was problematic for me. What can we say about speed in actions. And she was oh, as needed when one zombies joined and other not living friends for a long time.

The most fat plus of alone in the Dark for me is the use of practical household skills in it, with the exception of those associated with the murder of a walking dead. In a word, here you will definitely have to make my brains. A minute of the spoiler "Paddington did it". For example, in order to raise a heavy fire extinguisher to the second floor, and even on condition that the staircase is destroyed, it is necessary to use a kind of lift. Or, in order to go through the corridor flooded with water, where bare electric wires also stick out in different directions, you need to reach the knob and de -energize everything. And then go along your route.

But most of all I like ways to kill zombies: I will say right away that only fire takes them. No matter how much they beat them, they are all few. Therefore, you can first stun them and set fire to them or hit them with something burning (the benefit of choosing what is from), or even you can stun and then throw them into the bonfire, let them burn to your health.

Speaking of health. Treatment is performed in interactive form. All small injuries such as scratches can be healed with a medical spray. When pressing the “Treatment” key, the hero switches to the first -person appearance, looks at his wounds. And applies a wonderful healing spray. If you grabbed injuries more serious and you have bleeding, then the spray will not help here, you will need bandages. And if they are not at hand, then in your own interests to find them quickly, since from that moment your time is limited.

And something else. Practice has clearly shown that our character practically also reacts to the flame of fire, like a zombie – he dies. It will not be possible to get rid of burns of 3-4 degrees. Don’t even hope. Therefore, my advice to you: beware of any fire and other burning items.

Since I started talking about medical lotions, we will discuss the whole inventory. And the equipment is also very, very original. When you press the necessary key, we see how the hero opens his jacket and everything that there is in her pockets. The jacket can conditionally be divided into several parts. For example, on the right side there are only 4 of them: there you can put a medical spray, repellent, anti -corrosion spray, glass and plastic bottles, signal lights, blood bags, neon sticks. In the left – 5 seats. There are cartridges, batteries, bandages, scarves, islands, a knife, a screwdriver. In a holster, Edward stores a gun and a flashlight. Nothing can be put here, but the gun subsequently can be replaced with a more powerful.

I note that your stocks can be replenished periodically. That is, each compartment is intended for one thing, which, if desired, can be replaced.

We go to the weapon. The game has pistols, a huge amount of cold weapons such as katana, sabers, swords, axes and so on. But most of all I liked the opportunity to combine ordinary items and eventually receive original “means to combat walking meat”.

For example, you can make Molotov cocktail yourself. To do this, you just need to put a scarf in a bottle and set fire to it. You can make a flamethrower if set fire to the spray with a lighter. And make bullets fiery, dousing them with a combustible mixture. Having wrapped a bottle with the same liquid with bilateral tape, you can glue it to the enemy and then shooting it, call an explosion. You can also, having at the same time in your hands a gun and something throwing, even more colorfully blow something up, destroy, kill someone. And there are many such options.

And yes, there will be a lot of enemies on which all this can be tested. Still, the main actions of the game unfold in the Central Park of New York. Agree, the location is large and it is inconvenient to move on it on foot, and not fast. Therefore, the game is greatly thought out opportunities to use cars. And no longer important whether you have ignition keys. You just need to correctly connect the wiring. More developers thought about our safety, and we can turn on/off at our request headlights. Now imagine the game without cars. No, this is no longer that. It would not be so spectacular would look like an episode when it is necessary to escape from crevice on the roads of the city, whether we were on a bicycle, for example. Only on the car this whole chase looks impressive.

Of course, I have the rights of category “B”, but still it was unrealistic to try to leave me chasing me! This task was very difficult for me. I will not specify, I will simply say that not on the tenth attempt. And here I really appreciated the fact that the game is divided into separate episodes. And the fact that the player can choose their order at his discretion. By the way, it is very good that including this or that episode, the game in the style of the series tells you what was previously. This was done for several reasons. One of which is bugs. There are many of them. There are a lot of them right. Some bugs completely broke the game and did not allow one or another part to go through. Also due to wild management, when in some moments many players wanted to tear their hands off.

And this could not, of course, not affect the atmosphere of the game as a whole. And the atmosphere, as befits the genre, holds the player in suspense until the last minute. And here I want to note the chic soundtrack of the game.without which there would be no such intensity of passions.

Returning to the tense moments, I will say that in some episodes, more by the way, slow shots are used to make you hold your breath. But the rhythms of the heart still increase and this happens in those moments of success after the fourth unsuccessful attempts, for example, start a car, de -energize the wires, make an indirect heart massage.

By the way, about the episode with the provision of first aid. It was with him that one of the most, to put it mildly, emotional, and therefore memorable tasks in the game. It was necessary to provide an indirect heart massage. And for this I had to only (as it seemed to me at the very beginning) to press two mouse buttons at the same time. Do not believe it, but it took me 10 minutes to establish synchron between two fingers of one hand. In a word, my blood from my ears almost went from tension while I was playing an ambulance with a computer character.

Kat-scenes give a breath after all tense moments. I just adore them. Thanks to them, any game gains a certain integrity, clarity.There is a feeling that you are watching a movie.

And this “cinema” fascinates us with the number and quality of all the living creatures that is present in it. And we see not only the people obsessed with the otherworldly force. There are spiders of overgrowth, bats, which do not feed with bread, let me only get to someone.

So, all of the above about the pluses of the game. Are there any minuses? Is it that in addition to the lack of a good portion of jokes. I immediately note that I did not specifically seek them, because this process only ruins the most important pleasure for which I generally contacted games. And here the only thing I did not really like is the bugs that I have already mentioned, and artificial stretching of the plot. The game sins a couple of times, and it is directly striking. Yes, it seems that it was possible to give the hero a walk for several hours in a row in the park, but if all this were filled with more than the same tasks, which essentially carry nothing in themselves.

Summing up, I will add, the game has a lot of other cool pieces, which I decided to keep silent about. I think it’s not in vain. By the way, what can I not say – the game teaches us not only to use everyday knowledge, but also to be inventive, but also attentive and prudent. And more importantly: in no case does it become a participant in any experiments. Otherwise you risk waking up in 100 years and you will have to stomp along the path of light to the salvation of all mankind.
